Daniel McNalis is a highly experienced attorney with over 40 years of legal experience, having tried numerous criminal and civil jury trials to verdict in both State and Federal Courts. His mediation experience includes having participated in hundreds of mediation's, including multi-day as well as multi-million-dollar disputes.
He is recognized for his ability to combine expert analysis and courtroom litigation skills to successfully resolve cases. Daniel retired from trial practice in July 2022 and currently devotes his time exclusively to serving as a mediator. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator.
Daniel was raised in Chicago, Illinois, receiving his B.A. cum laude in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He attended law school while he was a firefighter assigned to a rescue squad with the Chicago Fire Department. He graduated from the John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law) with a J.D. in 1979. After becoming a Lieutenant on the Fire Department, Daniel further served the Department as the Department’s first legal advisor. Later, he served as an Assistant State's Attorney in Cook County, Illinois.
In 1986, Daniel moved to Florida, where he joined a civil litigation firm which grew into a statewide practice. He has litigated and tried a wide variety of civil cases, including large-loss insurance coverage disputes, catastrophic losses, bad faith, arson, fraud, construction related issues, as well as liability cases.
Daniel is well versed in building construction, having received extensive training and experience as a firefighter and inspector while on the Chicago Fire Department. This experience has aided his ability to handle construction and property damage cases. Additionally, he has served as an appraiser for property loss claims for both residential and commercial properties.
He is an active member of the community and has dedicated his time to volunteering with different organizations, including Boy Scouts and a FIRST Robotics team. He served with the U.S. Army Reserve, 12th Special Forces Group.
